Core Stability Books

Core stability exercises are an important, key element of many athletes and fitness enthusiasts and professionals' work-out routines. By engaging key abdominal muscles, core stability exercises help improve overall body strength, which in turn protects against both fatigue and possible sporting injuries.

Key muscles engaged in core stability exercise routines can include: the internal and external obliques, the quadratus lumborum, the diaphragm and the transversus abdominus.  Core stability exercises are particularly useful for, among others, those suffering from any type of back pain. The strengthening of core muscles, helps remove undue strain from back muscles when undertaking sport, or daily activities such as lifting.

Lotus Publishing's flagship core stability book, The Core Workout, was originally released in October 2004 by authors Joanne Elphinston and Phil T. Pook. Since then the popular health and fitness book has been updated and a second edition was released in 2009 by Lotus Publishing, which continues to enjoy success to this day.  The book covers such important topics as core stability exercise techniques, common errors when using a Swiss ball, partner exercises and weight training. Accompanied by a host of photographs the book is laid-out in a clear, concise, easy-to-use fashion.
